E4OD rebuild questions
E4OD in my 89 F250 IDI leaked most of its fluid out of the front seal. i wasnt the one driving and the guy that did ran it until it stopped moving. i refilled the transmission just to get it to the shop and it slips quite bad.
Ive rebuilt several th350,400,700... transmissions so this one shouldnt present any major problems i suppose. I have both ATSG manuals and a pdf file from dieselzen (thank you again!).
I have a couple of questions though. About half of the rebuild kits come with steels and the other half doesnt. should i replace those?
most of the kits come with only the pump and tailhousing bushings, is that enough or should i order the complete kit?
the rebuild kit i was looking at is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/360703794842?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
any opinions?
i also intend to purchase a shift kit, i was looking at this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/E4OD-4R100-Kit-Superior-KE4OD-E4OD-shift-kit-4R100-shift-kit-/160967022419?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item257a61d753&vxp=mtr
but couldnt find any opinions on it. does anyone have one of those?
the truck isnt driven alot, a couple of thousand miles per year tops. i do a lot of offroading and a little bit of moderate hauling. im on a really tight budget so i dont think i will be able to do all of the upgrades recomended. which ones are the most necessary? will i get 50k miles if i dont do any of them and just assemble it as it came from the factory?
