My 99 F250 has power TT mirrors but they do not telescope. Has anyone changed these out to TT mirrors that telescope. Did you do the removal/install yourself?? What was the cost and source of the replacement mirrors?
I, too, am wanting to change out the mirrors on my 99 F250SD for towing. BUt mine are manual. Can power mirrors be added, or is it not really possible?
I have a '99 F-250SD with the trailer towing mirrors. On the drivers side I have the original one, and on the passenger side I have the telescoping one. It was on there when I bought the truck, I'd like to find drivers side one so they'd match. But it looks like the telescoping ones bolted right on.
The telescoping ones will easily replace the non-telescope type. I dont' know if they're available anywhere else, but other posts here have mentioned that they bought the factory units from their local Ford dealer (ie, most expensive) and they were an easy swap. As for going from manual to power, that's a little more involved, especially if you don't have power windows or locks. You'll have to modify the harness, add the switch, etc...
Take it from someone who found out the hard way. Telescoping Trailer Tow mirrors are about $145 from the dealer. And, they don't hold up too good to roadsigns.
