AOD trans No reverse

Hi .I got this 83 Ford F100 5.0L V8 with 2 ventury carb and an AOD trans . I has no reverse right now and wondering what it might be. A couple of weeks ago went to Adrian MI to pick up an newer used engine for the same truck and when i got to the guys house and tried to back up the the garage to load engine , Nothing happened as a shifted into reverse. Also the same morning when i went to my doc appointment reverse worked great and in the afternoon it did not. That was embarrassing to say the least. Got the engine and got home ok. All FWD gears work just fine. It also has engine braking when shifted into low. But no reverse. Last Thurs. went to car wash and had to back into stall. was not easy but it did with about 3200 RPM and slowly creeping backwards. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No , fluid level is right where it needs to be.

Here's some notes I found online recently that may help you. I've never gotten into them myself, but I did a fair amount of reading about the AOD as I've been having some issues recently..
