Door Striker Pin

Hello all, I have an issue with my door striker pin, i've noticed over the last couple of months my doors have been very hard to close. I've read a thread that said something about there being nylon around the pin but I don't have it. It is just bare metal. The other thing is when I pull the old one out does something fall out on the back of the pin where the threads are? I'm thinking that there is some sort of washer and it may fall off... Any help is appreciated!

Ya, there is a bushing around it. The striker will just thread in like a bolt. Nothing will fall back. The striker is made to be adjusted so the backside nut will be loose but won't go anywhere.

The striker should have a nylon (plastic) bushing on it. Nothing will fall off the backside. There's a reinforced area that it threads into. There should be a large washer between the striker and the door frame.

Usually a missing nylon bushing will cause the door to be loose and rattle while you go down the road. It shouldn't be hard to close unless you have some type of misalignment going on.

If needed, new striker bolts are still available in the HELP! section at the parts store.
