New guy with his first Ford
Hi, everybody.
I recently bought my first Ford truck. It's a 97 F250 Heavy Duty 5.8L auto. It's in pretty good shape for a 15+ year old truck. Rust was a concern for me because I plan on keeping this truck for several years but there's nothing I can't treat (and maybe cover with fender flares). I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can figure out how.
My first objectives are to replace the amber cab lights with clear or smoke and clean/detail the engine. The amber lights don't bother me, although I think clear/smoke would look better, but my wife thinks it looks like a farm truck with them. Detailing the engine will have to wait a few weeks until it's a bit warmer outside. After that I plan on looking in to common mods like exhaust and such.
I'm coming from a Chevy so I'm eager to start learning about my first Ford and thought this would be a good site to do that.
