Alrighty guys im back to the camera install! Some more pressing things came up (axle leaks, U joints and finals).

All of the wiring has been routed from the rear to the cab. I just ran it along the factory loom and up through the cab floor. The power for the camera was wired into the backup lights(that before did not work).

However I have run into a problem. I cannot figure out how to get the monitor to come on! In the wiring for the camera there are a few red wires coming out of the video feed cable. One near the camera, one in the middle and one right next to the monitor plug in. No ground wires for the monitor side. With power hooked to both sides and in reverse the screen did not come on. After a while of messing with it the backup light wires got hot and began to smoke.

Any electrical gurus out there? Im not the best with electronics.

Not to hijack but just look these up on ebay and there are 100's of them. Some even look OEM with stock brackets. Some have Bluetooth hands free phone, GPS, Radar detector, front , rear, drivers cameras. almost ridiculous, but cool!
