Okay okay! Here are some pictures lol.. I must say that this is my first turbo install, what a pain in the A$$!!!!!!! Its like square peg round hole. I'm halfway done with the install now and I'm about 6 hours into it. All I can say is I really do not want to ever do one of these again lol but the payoff will be worth it so anyway here are some pictures about halfway done
Stock n/a 6.9!
This by far was the easiest part
This is where the fun begins, for any of you who have installed the drain tube into the valley pan, this took me some time
Redneck port a power!
I should have taken a better picture when the turbo was off. I had to take the turbo for a second time to install the oil feed line, do too the oil port on the side of the block sized in.
Again using the redneck port a power to make clearance for the up pipes.. Another pain
Thank you, I'm almost done with it now I'm on the downhill run haha. I'm bolting the air box on and the intake tube and she should be good to go. I'm going to do the gauges tomorrow :-) test run tonight for sure, I havent made any pump adjustments yet because I wanted to see the difference
Brand new $75 k&n....... that you can only buy from banks, BTW... Was designed especially for banks
Complete
Fired it up before I had the air cleaner assembly off and let it warm up to check for any leaks. Well surprise surprise what do you know, the oil feed line has a small seep.... Previous owner sad it didn't leak and never had a problem with it, I guess that's what I get for taking some somebody's word, or the fact that it had some kind of tape wrapped around it. Well I couldn't wait haha took it for a quick spin and oh my.... I was like :-) :-) :-) !!! Grin from ear to ear.. The turbo is a lot quieter than I thought it would be, and I don't even have my exhaust hooked up. I didn't want to stay in it because I don't have my gauges hooked up yet (tomorrows project ) but what a difference across the board it has a lot more get up and go , hardly any turbo lag.
Glad you got it working. Sounds like a good investment on this one. Let us know when you put the muffler on with 4 inch to see if the power has derated any. Looks good, like to have it on the van. Where in Calif. are you?
On a little bit of a side note, I am getting a light surge at higher rpm that was never there before.. I'll have to post up some pictures tomorrow afternoon, I think I will have to turn up the fuel one flat and then check again
I'm in southern California by riverside area and corona. Its quite a ways. Do you tow, I forget? Let us know how that goes, it should be way better. My van loaded weights around 9K so its lacking. Haven't really had it out since I installed new IP and injectors. Had a water leak on drivers side and parked it. I need to check it out, it mitt be a freeze plug.
I do tow with it, under 10k though... When I was underneath mine I also noticed I have some coolant residue from the block heater and the driver side rear freeze plug. Both will be changed before winter.
