Solid Sideglass installation question?

I have been looking at the kits from midfifties and I notice there is not a front channel.

Is a front channel not needed?

Hmm, I looked at the instructions and they call it out in them. It is just not listed anywhere that I have seen. When I did a parts number search it returned nothing.

It looks like the stock division bar could be modified to work...........

I am also a little confused about the lower lift runner. They almost act in their wording like the extended one is not needed if using tempered glass. Have any of you set the extended ones beside of the original ones? Whats the differece?

I know they are longer, is it longer on one end or both? And by how much?

Instructions - Solid side window, 1956 - Mid Fifty F-100 Parts

Read step 9, there is a U-shaped channel that comes with the kit

Mine came with the metal channel for the front in an F1. Actually they sent me two sets from different suppliers with NO instructions. They also forgot to send me the felt channel until I called and asked. The bottom glass channel on the lift came with it and it is the same length as the glass I got. The directions that I got for my 48-52 kit are for a '56. The felt channel that I finally got more than a month later, and after 5 emails, had the stainless bead so beat up that it would not slide. I called them and asked why the channel didn't come pre-bent like the picture on their web site and in their catalog - she said because it is too expensive to ship. How expensive is it to change the picture in the catalog and on the website or at least make a note? She had no answer. I ended up ordering some felt channel with no stainless from another company completely since the person at Classic Haulers/Mid Fifty told me that I was bending it wrong. I explained to her that the stainless bead was crimped in a dozen places and would not slide but I think she thought that I was lying. Instead of continued arguing, and since it took well over a month to convince them that I never got it in the first place, I decided to look elsewhere. Personally I wouldn't order from them again - and certainly not the one piece window kit. There are other suppliers of kits that I hope would be much better. Just my opinion.

When I got my kit the felt channels were bent but not correctly because the stainless beads were separating from the felt. I din't discover this until months later when I went to pre-install everything in the doors. I didn't bother to call about it to avoid an argument of who's fault it was. I had ordered new ones through Apple Auto Glass that came completely distroyed so was given them no charge, big deal huh.

I ended up getting ones with no SS bead. Much better and easy to use/bend even though it might not look as good.
