I seem to be getting a ton of small chips in my windshield and I was just wondering if there is a brand or type that gets less cracks/chips than the others.
I have heard from people at glass shops that there definitely are different grades of windshields, and that some shops will charge the same price but use low grade Asian imported glass. I don't know of any brand names but you might ask the glass shop what type of windshield that they are using.
the windshield on my 96 Ranger(used to be mine..)got broke after 4 years, had it replaced by a Harmon Glass store and it broke within two weeks,I bought what I was told was a Ford shield...it was not. There are varying levels of glass quality.
In my experience, Bronco windshields have special "rock magnets" embedded in them Maybe I need to check and see if they make them without those preinstalled.
