Leaking windshield question

Does the w/s that runs from the bottom of the windshield and ends at the rear of the passenger door frame come as part of the windshield? If not what is the name of it and where can I get one, I think this is part of my leak issue. Thanks guys.

I cannot for the life of me picture the part you're talking about... can you post a pic up of the area you're talking about?

Ok, that's not that big of a deal. Not part of the windshield, but it is replaced when the windshield is replaced. If it's for sure your trouble spot go to any good windshield repair shop and have them replace it. It's not a huge deal but it might be easier to just have them pull the windshield and replace all of the stripping.

I would make sure to completely inspect the windshield frame if you are experiencing a leak. Had an air leak making noise on a newly purchased 2002 with low miles, the dealer had his local windshield repair shop seal the leak. Within a month I had another leak, so decided to have the windshield pulled and discovered leak was a result of rust caused by improper windshield replacement in the past. I was told of two possible causes, the paint was scratched through with the removal tool or that the prior shop had used improper sealant such as silicone that was corrosive. I do not believe that silicone without scratch through the paint could cause the corrosion. I believe it was a few contributing factors, one of which was improper seal causing water to be trapped between the windshield gasket and the bead of sealant.

^^What he said^^. I just when through this myself. It didn't look like much but there was a few pin hole that let in ALOT of water. Excursions and Super-Dutys are pretty famous for rust along the upper windshield frame.
