Hello all, I had my transmission/transfercase removed and repaired, now the speed control does not work. I asked the service rep if they may have removed anything, he was not sure, said he would look into it and never called back. I looked at Hayes, but they wil not go in to it.. Any suggestions? I checked the fuse and brake lights, all look ok.. I just bought the truck and it worked fine. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.
Don't let up on the place that worked on your truck. If it worked before you went in and didn't work afterwards, then they had to do something wrong. Keep bugging them until they fix it.
Thanks, but what? I need some ammo. HHHHHEEELLLPPP!!! You know that they will say they did nothing wrong. If I had some fuel to add to the fire, it would sure help....
The only ammo you need is the fact that it worked on the way to the shop, and now it doesn't. Tell them if they can get it to work, you'll shut up. Otherwise, they either fix it or you'll never step foot in their shop again and you'll make sure your friends don't either. That's what I'd do anyhow. I know it's a tough position to be in man.
Leaving is what they'd want you to do. Tell them you won't leave until they agree to fix it. Park in front of their service bays to get their attention.
I wouldn't let them off the hook, either. I'm sure you paid some pretty serious $$ for the work that was performed so its not like they did you a favor.
If they continue to stonewall you, then have the cruise control fixed somewhere else and get something in writing as to what caused the problem. If it can be attributed to something the tranny shop did or didn't do, then you can take them to Small Claims Court to get your money back.
Make sure the tranny shop knows that this matter is not just going to go away by them simply ignoring it.
