I live in Florida where we get rain almost everyday...when my wipers are turned on there is a clunk in the floorboard sometimes I can feel it in my accelerator. Any idea what that is and if it something a little serious.
Your wiper motor and linkage arms are up in there behind the dash. They are moving around and might have come incontact with something. Look up above your gas pedal and just to the right you should be able to see the back side of the motor and the linkage arms.
It will be serious when they quite on you when you rolling down I-95 and 80 MPH in a down pour. Do they both work ok except for the just the clunk huh?
Caution: Do not have your hand up in and around the wiper linkage
looking for something loose or for ANY reason and turn on the wipers.
AND: If the wipers are stuck, Do Not try to free them with your hand
with the switch on.
Always disconnect the battery when working up in there please.
Ask me how I know this? It's similar to running your fingers into an
electric egg beater only a lot bigger and stronger beaters.
It will cut off fingers and brake bone and ya may well be stuck there till
ya bleed to death if working alone.
