Saw this in a trade magazine today.
A 3D printer that prints with Carbon Fiber. So could we print some of those parts made of unobtainiam?

Very cool stuff!

I find 3D technology fascinating, but I have a hard time thinking what I could make?

That's how you know when you are getting old...ranks right up there with "the music's too loud!".

Anyone who is enamored with antique Ford trucks is probably not the best audience for this technology...but there may be a few darksiders here that are saying "where has this been, I sure could have used it last year on my widget". Cool stuff, going to watch where it goes from here...

I heard on the radio about a man in England who got his face completely smashed up and the doctors are using 3D printing to make his new face. The doctor said that his new face will look better than his from before the accident. I have no idea how this could work, but sounds interesting.

I friend of mine is getting ready to undergo heart valve surgery. He said his doc was telling him within 10 years they will be printing out replacement tissue valves from the patients own dna. Perfect match, no rejection, and no more mechanical malfunctions from what's been used in the past.

So last week I learned that our office copier can automatically email me a pdf of the file I just copied. I told everyone how cool I thought it was. I don't want to be that guy that one-ups himself so I will just keep this to myself.

Great technology but there is a lot that they don't tell you here, number one being cost. Who wants to buy a $10,000 RF fender?
