Quick Question Regarding Front Dif Oil

I bought RP 75W140 and without thinking changed both the front and rear diffs, both with that weight oil. Of course I get online and find that the front only needs 75W-90. Did I just throw away $100 or can I leave that weight in front and be ok?

Thanks guys

You can leave it in there. Lots of people run the heavier weight oil, especially when towing/hauling.

Won't hurt anything.

The axles will probably run quieter in the summer, and you get some hot weather there. Also, if the truck has over 75,000 miles, its probably a good thing. Plus now, you can tow in reverse without harming the front axle!

That's funny.

You didn't hurt anything. I put the heavier oil in my front differential too. On purpose.
