the cable i got was probably about 4 foot long or so
it did not run very well on my buddies mustang, if i played with the PID's to much it would go nuts and not read correctly, and it wouldn't display anything on my focus, it would get so far as to load gauges and then shut off, im hoping it works better on my truck

The edge is great for stock applications. If you modify the truck IE: injectors and such canned tunes are not the best for you. In that case save couple hundred dollars and buy the CS. No tunes just monitoring. I speaking from experience. New transmission wasn't cheap and I know it was the edge that did it!

I think I will be getting one of these for monitoring also instead of spending as much if not more money on a 3 pillar gauge cluster.
Question, do you have to order an EGT probe with the Insight or does it come with one and also to add engine water temp do you need to order a special probe from edge?

You can order the EAS starter kit w egt probe for like 115$ that's what I did. To get engine water temp you need another system that attaches to the EAS starter kit w egt probe.
