I have a 1990 F-150 that has the argent styled steel (wagon) wheels. I have been looking for a while for the original style trim rings for the wheels, the ones with the two red stripes around them. Is there a reproduction source for these, or do I need to start hitting the junkyards hoping to find a decent set? The only ones I have seen that are new are plain chrome without the red stripes. I have seen some on Ebay, but they are usually pretty pricey. Thanks for the help in advance.
There's a guy about 30 miles from here that has only Ford trucks in his salvage yard and had some laying around last time I was there. I'm up in the area every Thursday and will stop by and see if there's any available and his cost.
The pinstripe in some areas is faded or non-existent. honestly.
The guy I bought the truck from used it to haul wood. probably why one trim ring didn't come with the truck.
If your interested I'd part with them. I'm gonna paint the wheels on mine.
I just painted a "Lund" sun visor I got off of craigslist with a factory color paint I got from Advance Auto. Ford factory grey I think it was labeled.
Coated it with duplicolor acrylic lacquer. it shines! and its protected.
Turned out nice.
anyways, I hope the wheels turn out the same.
if you are interested shoot me a offer, or give your email and I can send you some photos the wheel rings.
a sign shop or decal shop, body shop, could probably remake the pinstripe
the wheels the rings were on are the 15x7 5x5.5 pattern.
