I thought I saw some talk about an upgrade for the distributor for the 223/ 6 motors ...... Thanks Dude P. S. I have a Petronics to put in.. I thought there was a newer type....??

Basically he takes a GM distributor with both mechanical and vacuum advance and adapts it to whatever engine you've got. They are great even with points, if you have never seen GM points they have an allen screw to adjust the points thru a window in the cap. Very clever. Significant power and economy gains from the dual advance curves, although I can't say for sure whether he'll know the best curves for a 223.
