$180 Scan Tool Suite

I found this, so I share.

I saw this line "Limited time offer: Get ScanXL Standard FREE when purchased with OBDLink or OBDLink Bluetooth!" on one of the links below, but I have not yet exercised the validity of it. So... even if it's a typo - at least the following is available for $260.

PC/Android users:

OBDLink MX Bluetooth OBDII interface (excellent quality, reliable, works on my 7.3L and my 2009 Prius - the latest OBDII communications): [LINK] (1 Buck$Zooka® round)

This includes the following for free:

OBDWiz software for your PC: [LINK]

OBDLink Android App: [LINK]

Click the add-on boxes on the OBDLink MX page and you get these (for additional cost):

Scan XL Std software for your PC: [LINK] (a little over 3 Quarter-Caliber® rounds)

Ford Enhanced bundle for Scan XL: [LINK] (a little over 3 Quarter-Caliber® rounds)

Total price: $260 plus tax and shipping (no more than 3 Buck$Zooka rounds total).

I have the OBDLink hardware, I can vouch for its reliability and connectivity. As for the software, I have not yet tried the OBDWiz or the OBDLink Android app because they do not have the Ford Enhanced bundle. I have AE for the PC and Torque Pro for the Android, but my approach costs more money than this package deal.

All users:

*Available in August* OBDLink MX WiFi interface (with free iOS or Android OBDLink App available): [LINK]

The only problem with Apple products is I don't know how you will find the Scan XL product (with Ford Enhanced) for non-PC. The latest info I have is Torque does not work with Apple, but Dash Command is doing something with extended PIDs. I leave that up to iOS owners who follow this thread and post more info.

So here I was, wondering when I was going to pony up the cash to buy AE as I have once again for the millionth time convinced myself that ye ol' 7.3 is staying put in the stable and will not be replaced for years ... now poking around in the forums and Tugly gives me an option that is a little less painful.

I'm going to look into this more, having an option that I can use my PC or my droid with is interesting. But I can't seem to figure out the $180 deal. They say OBDwiz comes free with the purchase of OBDLink but I can't find any wording on the website that says Scan XL is free. ??

Glad I finally decided to check out the forums today after being away for awhile

It seems the limited time is over, the scan xl standard is now additional. I am behind the times on these things and it would be great if someone could explain this to me. It looks like you clip the unit to the truck under the dash and leave it there then sit within blue tooth range and get your diagnostics? Is it as easy as they make it sound?
Thanks,
Mark

That's pretty much it. While there are limited products available for tablets, you can do the ever-elusive buzz test from a tablet, with caveats. It's been a hot topic lately.

The only cable I have going to my tablet with Torque Pro is for power:
