thanks GSchretter...You posted while I was busy typing and dealing with little kids at bed time.. If that's the case then the Banks IQ isn't reading things right. Is that the kind of 'roaring sound' I sometimes hear as it shuts down? can really hear it in garage just after turnin key off. it sound like its up under hood cowl on driver side.
Yes sir, as the butterfly closes(which is only used to restrict air so more from EGR goes into the intake and during this you can hear this noise especially ifyou put on an aftermarket air intake.
Keep the EGR % as mush as possible is a really good thing.
Reason:
Long as that EGR is opening up it is slowly filling up the intake with soot.
Once it hit a pretty high % like 80 % over time the repair is insane.
1. Cab off
2. Turbos off
3. Intake off
4. They power way the intake.
I was quote 2,500 for the repair, of that was my ford dealership buddy and he could of been jacking with me.
I know it's not cheap.
Keep the EGR % as mush as possible is a really good thing.
did you mean "keep % 'CLosed' as much as possible"??
The Reply I got from Banks on inquirey about it said that programming is not .specifically closing the egr valve but the improved efficiency from programing leads to egr not needing to open, if I understood it correctly.
