DeeZee Tough Step
Can anyone advise if they have installed a DeeZee tough step on their truck, part #DZ26, Tough Step
I am getting mixed messages regarding installation, including from deezee themselves. I was told by a rep that they install onto the rocker panels using existing holes. the instructions on their web sight are "not available". I was able to find the instructions online from 1998, which state that the frame needs 4, 3/8" holes per side drilled into it.
can anyone offer any experience or advice?
Its a 14 F250 xl 4x4 reg cab
Thanks

Thanks Tom,
I'm actually am having a similar experience with lund. I was looking at their trail runner boards,- Lund Trail Runner Running Boards - Shop RealTruck.com ,after calling lund direct, to confirm fitment, they state that the trail runner will not fit my truck, even though it's being sold by realtruck.

the tough step is one heck of a board, if it is still made the same as it was back in 88. i had them on all my trucks, the last set i bought in 92.
they mount to the frame with a thick steel plate, then side arms come down to the board.
the new superduty steps mount to the rocker panel. i never liked this idea, because
1: it stresses the rocker, and
2: with age the rocker rot and it becomes a safety issue.
the tough steps on the 88 are just as strong 26 years later as they were when i put them on.
and i have put them through hell too. the driver side has been bent under the truck at least 5 times and straightened back out, the passenger side 2 or 3 times.
and they still hold me up with no problems even though i am now up to 300 lbs.
