I have sometimes noticed a vibration that you can feel the impulse of in the steering wheel and maybe the floor of the truck shortly before I get the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message on the info center.
It feels kind of like the ABS system handling a breaking operation on a slippery surface, but the breaks are not applied. I have felt this around 4 times since owning the truck (6 months and 6500 miles). I have seen the cleaning message without feeling the vibration also.
If it happens, it seems to be around 30 seconds before the cleaning message appears, and lasts for maybe 1 second. Not sure if anything starts happening before the message, but this seems to much of a coincidence. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

It might be worthwhile to mention this to your dealer the next time you're in for service, n6nfg. They'll be able to determine if any service actions are necessary and recommend next steps from there. I can assist by bringing this to the attention of your regional customer service manager. Just send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership; I'll do the rest.
I read through the referenced posting about the TSB (although I apparently don't have permission to see the actual TSB referenced), and not sure we are talking about the same thing. While I do feel a vibration sometimes, it only lasts around 1 second, has no effect on the engine performance or sound during the vibration, and occurs at least 30 seconds before the cleaning message appears on the LCD screen. From what I read, it would appear that the symptoms referenced occurred for a "while" (many seconds/minutes) and only after the message had occurred, not before.
I have never had to take the truck in for anything yet, but I will mention this to my service adviser (we are on a first name basis from my previous 2004 6.0 escapades) next time I talk to him.
