Welp, last month I pulled into the driveway and ran inside to grab my wallet, backed up to go to the hardware store and saw the dreaded brown stuff on the driveway. Pulled strait into the garage and shut it down. Since it was a high of 10F, I left it be.
My bet is something went wrong with the oil cooler again. I just replaced it last July, so i'll tear it apart again when the weather gets a little bit warmer. The week after that we had 2 snow storms totaling 16".
I don't feel bad, I had an exhaust leak on the flex pipe from the left bank to the turbo so I had almost no boost. I had a new Y pipe to install but it's not going in without pulling out the turbo and numerous other parts as it is.
To add insult to injury, the storm collapsed the roof of the garage with my truck in it. I have it supported now, but I need it to get warm fast so I can fix my truck and get it out of there.
Wow, when it rains, it pours. the garage falling in..dang. Brown stuff is what? Not a leaking Dorman cooler I hope. Maybe fuel delivery problem on the low power issue?
Good luck with it!
Fuel delivery is fine, just that Y pipe at the flex portion got a big crack when I was reinstalling everything.
The part that kills me the most is my backup car is a 1990 volvo 740 wagon... It's shaped like the truck, but about 1/8th the size. I feel like I have no privacy! I can't leave my laptop bag on the passenenger seat because people can see it being so low. I can't see above the car in frotn of me in traffic. And the SHAME of driving it to my office, I park in the neighboring office building and walk 1/2 mile to my office! It's a rattly little piece of **** that once I fix my truck I'm going to drive into a river.
Yup, wasn't thinking about the exhaust leak. Oil cooler ain't that bad of a job if you have the time and $ for parts. sounds like the carpentry might be a bigger job.

Although this is of no help with your problem, the text in bold red gave me a good old fashioned belly laugh and for that I thank you.

(My iPad doesn't have an ALT key )
Oil cooler isn't bad, considering I just did it last july. I'm not sure where the mix is coming from this time, I checked the oil and hte coolant and both are clean. I know that i messed up the gasket on the cover to the oil cooler, which causes a tiny leak, and was going to tear everything down to fix that anyway.
I crawled all over the engine without taking anything apart, and didn't see the oil/coolant mix anywhere, so I'm not sure where the puddle came from. Degas bottle is clean, which is where it overflowed the last time when I found that my oil cooler had ruptured.
Since this is my second time pulling everything apart it'll go much faster. I'm thinking of doing a picture or video documentation on it for those that might be intimidated by the challenge. Ther'es youtube videos of it, but they show you how to do stuff with the engine out, or on something that just went in so it's all easy. I found the youtube videos almost no help when doing it my first time. Taking the intake apart, turbo out, manifold off, oil cooler, exhaust, etc. It's not easy. Though now I think I could do it in an afternoon, the first time it took me a solid 2 weeks of 3-5 hours a day. THinking back I have no idea how it took so long.
