Body Panel Alignment

How accurate is the body panel alignment on your Super Duty? My 2012 Super Cab XL has noticeable misalignment between the driver's side front and rear (rear-opening) doors; one of the headlights looks a little off, and even that little piece between the windshield / front door / hood / front fender isn't right. I'n not talking "perfectionist" misalignment, it's pretty noticeable even from ten feet once you notice it the first time. Is it because it is a plain-jane XL that was obviously destined to be a work truck as it rolled down the assembly line? Are the XLT's, King Ranch's, etc better? I know it is not a Honda Accord or anything, and frankly I don't care too much because she ain't no show truck, and there is no wind noise or water leakage, and I usually go by the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule. I have never beaten the truck, carried really heavy loads, etc. (the box is perfectly aligned). I did not notice it when I bought it, jumping quickly on a fantastic deal because it was a leftover 2012 in March of 2013. I'm really not too worried about it, just mostly curious if the high-end trim levels get a little more attention on the assembly lines, or if any of you have had to have your dealer tweak a panel or two into better alignment after purchase... Thanks in advance for any feedback.

My '11 Lariat was the same way. It was Oxford White but I really don't think the color matters so much. In any amount of decent light, it was easily noticeable. I never noticed any real misalignment with the headlights but I had misaligned doors on both sides as well as what you mentioned about that little piece right above the F-350 emblem near the windshield. Mine had the two-tone paint and to be honest, they did a horrible job with the tape stripe and there was a terrible attempt at a paint break everywhere the two-tone ended with plenty of overspray.

Fit and finish.

It is the same for most all american vehicles. The fit and finish is lacking like many things.

For fun look over the vehicles in a car lot. Take note of the gap spacing size, and over all fit and finish of the seems and where things meet up. Then go over to the import lot (mainly honda, toyota, nissan) and look at the same things.
