If you was going to do such a thing....the rear hangers will have to be moved back and the frame would need extended to support the bed and bumper. Side tank would probably be too short to reach the fuel fill on the bed. Probably easier to graft a long bed frame on it. A regular cab long bed section would work and are easy to find. Fish plate and weld. But probably even easier to swap with some one wanting to go the other way which some people do want to do.

Well I think it's going to stay a short bed, too nice of a truck to cut the frame. It came from Nevada so the underneath is almost like new. Just needs to sit a little higher. Maybe a lift in the future. Thanks for the info.
