rear fender patch

does anyone know of a place to buy rear fender patch pannel to repair rear fender where the running board bolts to the fender.i thought i could make a simple patch,but not looking very well. any places to try? thanks j m ray

I can't think of any at the time, but what model of truck do you have.

Hey J M - welcome to FTE.

I don't believe they make them. You could try taking the fender to a metal fab place or try it again yourself. Here's a thread from the Bodywork Forum on Patch Panel/Rust Repairs that may help you a bit -

rear fender patch

They do make them for 38-'47 pickups. Seems they think that's a real common rust spot. But I can't seem to find any in any of the old Ford parts places websites. They are usually like around $40 I think.
