My 1956 F 250 has the spare tire mounted on the driver side rear fender . I am thinking the truck would look better if I filled in the cut out on the fender and mounted the tire under the rear of the box . Does anyone make a patch panel to do this or does anyone have a junk fender that they could cut a panel out of? Someone with talent and a English wheel could make one , I am not that guy .
Someone with a torpedo mallet, sandbag, body hammer and dolly could make a patch panel. I highly recommend buying Ron Covell's Ron Covell Creative Metalworking Workshops DVD Basic Techniques for Working with Steel
ROAD TRIP!!! C'mon, it's only 750 miles, meet in Nashville, think of all the FTE'ers you could stop to visit along the way! Raytasch, Harleymsn, 9Teeen56F100, Homade.... The kind of adventure that makes for memories!
Personally I like Ax's idea . You never want to pass up an opportunity or excuse to buy some tools and gain some skills . And what the heck it's Christmas .
I think the fenders are all the same up through the 70's. It should be fairly easy to find a fender to cut a chunk out of.
I think the big difference in the fenders from the 53-56 trucks and the later trucks is the mounting position on the bedsides.

I was hopping Ray or Ross would show up and make me one .
Sorry Dave, but my sheetmetal fabrication skills are poor at best. Now, if you need help swapping out a fender, I will help. Or, if you need a fender carried from SW Ohio, I can do that as I am there now and heading back to SE TN in a few days with an empty PU.
Merry Christmas to all.
