hi all its been a while since i have been on this forum. the last ford i had i let a friend barrow and he ended up wrecking it. yea i know stupid me that wont happen again. so i finally got a new truck. its a 94 f150 4.9 and auto, im assuming its an e4od and when i bought it the trans shifted great. it needed wheel bearings so i did that put a new wing window in tune up and and oil change. today the trans started acting up. it shift into d and r very harsh like the line presure was all the way up and would shift from 1-2 hard enough to throw me back. it try to shift from 2-3 and fall into a false nuetral and then finally hit 3rd and shift hard into 4th. this was inconsistant. check the fluid level and it was full and clean. no overheating and no check engine light. so i decided to pull the codes when i did the light came on and and right back off and no flash i waited lie five min and nothing. i did this several time with the same result so i started it up and went to put iit in gear and now its smooth. drove it around and it shfts smoothly again. even the engine feels to run better. could this be a bad pcm problem has anyone expeirnced this before any help would be great thans
Ok that's what I thought soon as the rain stops ill check it out. One thing I forgot to mention is this truck spent its whole life at an air tool company in galveston tx I'm the second owner. So it wouldn't surprise me if there is corrossion in there. For now its running but when I start it it revs to about 2000 2500 then goes down this seems a little for a cold start has anyone had this problem before. Thanks
Are you sure you are reading the codes out correctly? On and off is just the normal behavior for the check engine light when the ignition is turned on. It isnt getting the signal to flash the codes - check your wiring
If the engine runs and the transmission shifts at all then the computer is working enough to flash codes.
Yea I'm sure I did it right I've done about a million time on diff vehicles. The light comes on when I turn the ignition on and goes off when I crank Tue engine up. So far it has not thrown a code amd when I try to ge them the light comes on and goes off and doesnt flash any codes

The F3TF-12A650-ZA is the number on the computer that auto part stores and salvage yards go by.
The F3TZ-12A560-ZA is the part number that Ford dealers go by.
