Hello , I have played with ford trucks over 30 years sure bought and sold a bunch. This spring I'm giving my 17 year old my low mile 92 F-250 4x4 that I hydro locked last spring . We pulled it home drained the oil ,pulled the plugs blew the water out, and parked it.
The truck is used for pulling a 18 ft. car trailer, lower rpm torque , and mpg if possible. NO Smog required. Truck has 62,000 honest miles.
We got a nice fresh set of GT40 heads with trick springs new valves. Today I bought Typhoon lower and upper intakes.
My machine shop is close by building local track motors. My builder-friend years of experience on his race machine, will walk my son and me though the hands on assembly.
our job is getting the parts, block out, and in the shop
First question is buying shorty headers or block huggers?
Distributor coil & wires , air breather, Throttle body
Cam, Pistons possible 30 over ,rods maybe if needed
Lifters, Push Rods, Timing gear, Rebuild kit,
Much more to get ready before tear down.
Oh I work for a living budget is necessary but not at the price of good parts.
decided to use shorty headers i can weld in the rest after the motor install.
I still do not have any ideas about ordering the other parts,,,, cam lifters 1.7 rockers ?
the vin number for the truck is 1FTHX26HONKA92584,,, Year 1992
so i am guessing this is not a roller block ,,, what does that mean to torque-hp rebuild
bad good or something else

For specific engine info you may want to post in the engine specific tech forums on the site.
As for pictures, go under User CP > Pictures & Albums > Add Album. Then you can upload picture from your computer to that album. Once uploaded there will be a link associated with every picture that you can copy/paste into this thread and it will display the picture directly in the thread.
my son helped me get those posted, we built our first desktop PC a few years ago, miles ahead of me now , he just built another one for running autocad.
Nice looking truck, and it sounds like a decent plan for the engine. As Collin mentioned, for more exposure to motor savvy members, posting in the appropriate engine forum would probably help you more than we could here. It's not that we don't want to hear about it, though!
ok Bob I thought I was in the right engine forum , can you post a link for me .
Maybe I just don't see or understand it must be very obvious .
Thank you
ha ha ha ,,I did find the right place ,, learn to scroll down the list

You're in the right place for the body style/model years, as you found though, the engine forum has way more info than here!
It is confusing though, lots of sub forums here...
MAF plays a bit better with cams and such gives you more options. But if you are trying to stay close to stock SD will work fine.
No it is not a roller block I believe it may see a bit lower power ratings then a roller block but don't quote me on that one. I also believe (again don't quote me) if you wanted to go that far you could convert it to a roller block.
Looks to be a nice truck I can't wait to see it done.
