Transmission problems please help
When I put it in drive I don't have any problems except in do it starts jerking when I give gas
When I put it in reverse I can move but as soon as I give gas it stalls the engine tranny was sitting in another truck swapped it with mine I changed the filter and 5 1/2 quart of oil
I when to a transmission shop plugged it inn no codes and he said he would changes all solenoid and valve body gasket but he's not sure what is the problem
So I started to take out valve body and notice the oil is darkish red and was wondering if it was normal or not and if I'm taking that valve body out for nothing or should still go ahead
Thanks for your help
Sounds like you have your hands full with the tranny, so since you have the valve body out of it, maybe have a look/read through this thread for some good tips & let us know how it goes. https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...dy_Gasket.html
Since its messed up inside, I'd consider adding a good quality inline fluid filter, like a Magnefine, to catch any mischief causing debris circulating in the flluid after the repair. Let us know how it goes.
Know the gasket looks like new and doesn't look broken I do not have a new one my dealer couldn't get before mid week next week can I just leave it there and put everything back in or there is something I can do without changing the gasket to help the fix thanks again for answering this is my first time in transmission so I will take everything you guys give me
The entire thread from which this post came, can be accessed by clicking on its link at the top right of the above page & is about how to perform a full tranny fluid pump out, as part of a scheduled tranny filter & full fluid pumpout maintenance service, or service after a tranny repair, to flush out mischief causing loose debris & installing an inline filter to keep any other loose debris from getting back into the tranny sump, which you could certainly have with the reported failure. So since you've had your tranny opened up after having problems, you might give serious consideration to perform the full fluid pumpout & add a quality inline filter. Just dropping the pan to change the filter & refilling the pan, only changes about 40-50% of the old fluid, as the remainder is in the torque converter, cooler & lines.
Before I dropped the pan I pumped out the oil out from the tranny by unplugging the tube from the line going in the front cooler and took out a good 4-5 quarts out off it and when I dropped the pan some more dropped out but I wanted to know how to flush the rest of it thanks for the link I'll keep ya posted when I'm done
Thanks
The truck works fine except from the shuddering in high speed I'll have to look at that but tranny works fine for now

I'm going to install inline Magnefine filters in both vehicles tranny return line, as I've gotten really good results with Magnefine filters in both vehicles power steering return lines & since doing that its stopped the recurring power steering shudder both had developed between power steering fluid flushes. So if you haven't installed/added an inline tranny fluid filter, seriously consider doing so, especially after the kind of problems you posted about.
