Sounds like somebody feeding you bs. Auto nation has them in stock. Rs and LS is different. Total price was $77.69. For both. 6.7 hadn't had a head gasket issue as well.

Yea Thanks for the welcome been on the Chrysler prowler for for years and always get good info from the other folks on the boards

Will ford use a part from another source ? The service man at the dealer seams to think there was a issue with the first ones and they are waiting for new ones to be made?

BTW I had the water pump replace 500 miles before at 35k

Definitely keep me in the loop, too, mspe01. If you'd like me to step in and assist, just send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

Crystal

Glad something is happening at least Mike!

Let us know how the repair goes.
It sounds like your servicing dealer isn't overly helpful which is unfortunate, but if you explain your situation well to the Customer Service team on the number I provided above, and the inconvenience it has caused you, they may offer you some goodwill (like a free oil change or something). They may not too, so don't be offended if they say no! - but it never hurts to ask, given how much time they have had your truck for, it would be nice if they gave you something!

Well Fri the dealer delivered my truck back to me 5 weeks to the day seams to be running Great. They rec,d the parts the fri before but had one of the two techs went off on sick leave so it was a few extra days to fix. I was pretty disopinted it took so long before it was done. I had the wrong diesel filter in so they replace it and charge 176.00 for the new one, I paid like 55 bucks on a site that I found here but don't remember which one so I'm just out there All in all happy to be taken care of on warranty and bought the extended warranty for 2850.00 as the bill for this repair scared the hell out of me Thanks again for all your help Mike

So was a determination made as to the reason for the original failure?

Glad you got it running.
