I am looking at doing the power disc brake conversion on my 66 f100. Has anyone done the Master Power company brake conversion and how are the components. I spent much time and money doing drop spindles and replacing king pins last year and their kit is pricy but boasts that you can use your existing spindles.
I did the Master Power Brakes front disc brake plus dual master cylinder plus power booster conversion at the beginning of 2011. For the most part I was happy with it. You get new or reconditioned Ford parts with a warranty. The adjustable rod is very nice. I didn't like the nylon (or whatever it was) king pin bushings, and my alignment shop refused to consider doing an alignment with non-metallic bushings so I bought the bronze (I think - it's been a while and my memory sucks) ones. I had to do a little bit of clearancing the mount bracket (to the firewall) but not much. The proportioning valve mounting system was a bit odd, but not really a problem. It's potentially a good bit more expensive than getting all the components off of a donor vehicle - along with other systems you might also be wanting like power steering - but if this is the way you want to go I think you'll be happy with the results. I'll throw in some pictures of my installation. Good luck!
Overpriced in my opinion. Head out to the local wrecking yard and pull what you need. You can get a new master cylinder and booster pretty cheap on Ebay that's a bolt on for F100's. Summit and Speedway sell adjustable master cylinder pushrods if you aren't up to fabbing one.
