My new to me 2003 Navigator has a muffler that looks like this.
I look at other 2003 navigators and theirs do not look like this. This does not move or rattle if I try to move. What can it be? What can I do to make it look more.. normal?
Also...the bottom part (brownish with a black dot in the picture) gets wet after driving. Looks like water..what does that mean?
Did you crawl underneath your truck and look? Check the hangers and clamps. Check the exhaust pipe to see if you might have hit something and bent or kinked it. Could also be starting to rot and falling apart. Water dripping from the end of the tailpipe is normal. If its dripping from the muffler, that could also indicate rust/rot.

I tried wiggling and it didn't seem to move at all. Here is another shot after driving.
Assuming something got bent / misaligned, would it make sense to forcefully lift the end (near pipe) and hang?
