muffler delete

Hola.
While I'm trying to cobble some pesos together for a full exhaust I want to delete the muffler and see how I feel about a straight pipe before i pull the trigger on the full system.

Any recomendations on where to get a muffler delete pipe or do I need to have one made up?

Thanks
Chris-

You can go pretty much anywhere, other than a hair salon, and get a piece of pipe to put in place of the muffler. It's just a mtter of finding a muffler shop willing to weld it up....and we all know there's no shortage of those guys.

If it is a stock exhaust, it will sound a little different, kinda wierd. A 4" -5" on the other hand will sound flat out bad a$$.

Aaaaahhhh, Chris, you're stuck in the PMS web already. Got the truck the other day eh? Did you go take out that second mortgage or loan yet? Pretty soon your friends will think you have gone totally insane by fixing things that aren't perceivably broken and no amount of explaining will help. Might even cut a hole in your fuel tank.

But seriously, I just pulled the exhaust off from the muffler back to see what it sounded like. It did sound wierd, but kinda cool. From what I understand you can disconnect the pipe right in front of the muffler, grind off the locating dowel, rotate it around about 180*, and line it up with a section of pipe to the aft pipe cut from the muffler's rear. My advice, why bother spending even $50 on that when you know you will end up with a larger system. Put that money towards that. Get rid of that 3" downpipe, that's a real obstruction and temp raiser. After disconnecting half of my system, I simply ordered the cannon. No sense fooling around.

yes the stock system straight piped sounds different from a 4" system or even a big fat 5". i would go with the exhaust and skip the muffler delete. just get a muffler delete for the new system and you'll love it.

yup Tenn01, I've already been sucked in. Surprise suprise eh?

yeah, I know you guys are right. Waiting makes sense but it's not as much fun.
Guess it's time to start exhaust shopping.

So what's better, a 4 inch or 5 inch?.......Just kidding!

Seriously though, i think the next thing i spend some sheckles on is going to be a thorough check up from a good diesel mechanic before my pathetic 30 day warranty ends. this injector rattling is starting to get to me. Wonder if I have a bad one?
