on my 88 f250 i replaced the 351w somehow the thin plate between the motor and tranny was ripped when mechanic pulled it from truck...(didnt unbolt starter)
ive since gone thru 2 starters and now my third is acting up?????
the hole in the plate that locates the starter was ripped...i bent it back into place and pinned it to the bell housing....to get starter back into position....worked for 3 -4 months...hasnt seemed to move but every 2-3 days now the starter seems to move far enough out of position to grind when i hit the key.....if i loosen and retighten its fine for a couple days??????
