1999 f250 for a work truck?

Wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pressure if you decide to go look at it.

Might be worth keeping in mind that it has been posted at a low price (well below blue book) for two months and hasn't sold yet. Does it have a clean title? At that price I would consider at least checking the CarFax for $50 bucks. That $50 dollar subscription came in handy for two Ford buys we just had in my family. The more info the better!

Fouled plugs, bad COP (or COP's) bad COP boot(s), IAC, vacuum leak, fuel filter prob, EGR fouled.

Run it for codes if you can.

Are any of those major repairs?

Only issue with it being about an hour away, I dont really know any local mechanic buddies there to look at it. Unless someone comes with me

Why wait

If there were a dented, but rust free truck that ran at all for $1800 within an hour of where I lived, I would have bought it already (might have tried to get him down a couple hundred more). If there are no knocks in the bottom end, the problem can't cost more than a few hundred to fix by yourself. If you don't work on your own stuff, that could be harder. Still, I would have bought it already.

Where I am at, everyone thinks their rusted junk is work over $3K cause it runs...

Thats what I'm saying. Worst case it needs a new motor..for 1800 thats still a deal for a non rusted super duty. didnt know these came without air but I dont care as its just a weekend hauler while working on houses. Buddy has a trailer so I may go get it and tow it home rather than drive it before check it out. I dont know much about motors but have buddies that do and I know how to use tools so its not like I cant assist if I have someone that knows what they're looking at, so I wont have to just hand it over to a shop and say fix it. Lol

Probably a bad COP. At that low price you have a group of people looking with very little money, and as such probably little knowledge in cars. So the rough running is scarring people. They probably think it is a motor issue. Even at $1500, if it were clean and needed a motor it would be well worth it

Sorry for being stupid, but can that itself be fixed or is that a sign that a new motor or rebuild is needed?
