steering column bearings

steering column bearings

I think my 70 F350 needs the steering column bearings replaced. It makes a creaking and cracking sound when I turn.

Are the upper and lower bearings the same? What are the Ford part numbers?

The columns were different depending on how many drive wheels you had and what transmission you had. Posting that info will help. Go here and you'll get your diagrams, but it's up to someone like Bill to give you that actual part numbers.

What is the Ford part number?

C3DZ-3517-A .. Steering Column Bearing / Available from Ford ~ MSRP each: $10.96.

B1AZ-3518-A .. Steering Column Bearing Nylon Sleeve / Available from Ford ~ MSRP each: $8.67.

1967/72 F350 upper/lower // 1961/64 F100/250 2WD upper / 1961/66 F350/600 upper / 1961/67 E100 upper / 1961/70 F100/250 4WD upper / 1965/72 F100/250 2WD upper/lower.

1966/72 Bronco upper/lower / Misc 1973/79 F100/750 / Misc 1973/77 Bronco / Misc 1974/79 E100/350 / Misc 1960/70's FoMoCo Passenger Cars.

You may or may not need the sleeves. All the repro parts sellers carry these two parts, Carpenter has them listed under these part numbers.
