Sorry Max....I'm NEW to all of this and posted a question re: my 1993 F150 straight 6 4.9L yesterday...I was having problems originally with the distributor cap getting cracked (3 of them-hair-line) the truck would crank but not run (plenty of cranking power)...I thought it might be a bad bearing the distributor but after pulling it out, it seems to be very tight. Now my thoughts are leading to the pickup coil(should have started there-hide sight). Could the pickup coil crack the distributor cap? What are your thoughts? Could really use some solid advise.
Thanks!
I certainly wouldn't think so. Does the engine run until these cracks develop, then not start until the cap has been replaced? How many miles are you getting on the caps before they crack? What brand caps have you used? Pics of the cracked caps?
In what regard? Not sure what you're looking for here.
This thread was started shortly after the first appears the title has been edited, either that or it's a third thread. Time stamp suggests its not a third but not positive, original title edited to be less ....well.... demanding to one that's more polite.
