I bought a truck 2003 f350 crew cab 4wd 2 years ago with a front wheel that fell off (hub assembly broke into ) I got the truck at a good price and had it fixed but 12,000 miles later it happens again same side same wheel no warning signs heard a little grinding and abs came on by the time I found some where to pull over (600ft) the hub assembly blew and left me with a tire barley hanging on and locked up I do have aftermarket fuel rims on with 35" tires but no crazy offset I was wondering why this keeps happening (thank god for being with me and no one getting injured because it could have been a lot worse)

Did you replace it with an OEM part or aftermarket?
Aftermarket I know I went cheap but the wheel shouldn't still be falling off
Agreed but some times the quality of a part is affected by the desire of shareholders to improve the bottom line. Make it cheaper so we have better margins.
I will post some pics and the torque on the lugnuts not sure I tight them with 1/2 breaker bar and checked them routinely the well is still connected to the lug nuts it came apart farther inside

Now that is a bit scary. Do you have any idea where they came from?
I think after that if I were you I would be going to pick up the new
one from Ford.
Also might be a good idea to remove the other side wheel and have someone
do a dye penetrant on it to check for any cracks in the same place.
Going to start working on the truck today was wondering what is the best hub assembly you can buy for this truck is it oem($460) or is something better like timeken

It sure would help if we could see exactly how it broke. Is the part still under warranty?

Do a google search. Actually I got mine off eBay from Detroit axle. Paid about 130 bucks. Came complete with ABS line too.
