YEP still trying to figure out a miss on my 05 F350, I bought back in August and you all helped me imensely, so I figure I would throw the latest info at you. I ran an oil change with T6 and archoil to no avail and about 500 miles ago did the oil change with T6 and 2qts of Hot shot. No change. Today a friend of mine brought in his AE and we hooked her up...i was hopeful when I saw the P0272 #4 injector contribution code, but it only showed up once. We did the buzz test and contribution test with nothing out of whack. So we went for a ride to monitor everything when she started bucking....AE picked up no missfires but she is definately missing. It is absolutely evident even at idle...partialy magnified by the 4 inch turbo back diamon eye... any thoughts.
I cant post numbers from SG2 just now but I didnt see any issues with FICM, ICP EOT-FWT, etc,
I use Diesel Kleen on every fill up as well
It's irritating as all get out, mine is pretty constant and magnified at oil changes and cold weather. I've concidered pulling #4 injector and polishing spool valve to see if it helps. Back in August when it started I was on here for a couple weeks trying to find the source, we all agreed that it was stiction. At this point I am ready to replace injectors if i could know for sure which one was acting up.
Fwiw, I had a hot miss at idle on cylinder 5 with my 03 130k. I replaced my injectors after my dorman oil cooler gasket failure and it went away. I would just get a cont code nothing else. It was not that bad but it would hunt up and down about a 100 rpm. Upon acceleration after idles a couple of min it would push a little black smoke. A wrote it off as an injector. I would clean the spool valves, rering and swap with a different hole. See if the random code moves or goes away.
No smoke at all, I didnt unhook ICP this go round..Mostly because under WOT the miss is gone. I'll give it another 500 miles, and let the weather warm up a bit and start pulling injectors on left bank. Wont hurt to disconnect ICP for a little run at lunch time. Turbo spools fine and builds great boost, although it does rest at idle at 85. and you deffinately hear it with new exhaust.
finally got it figured out....On a hunch and the one misfire code for #4 I went ahead and replaced the injector. found a stretched bolt on the HP oil rail as well. Problem fixed truck never ran better. I'm getting pretty good at tearing this thing down.
