2014 lariat SD w/ CNG system
I don't know how many people privately own a compressed natural gas F250 truck but I purchased mine with the intent of having a CNG system installed. A little background... I used to drive a 2001 f-150 but last September at the state fair I ran across an F250 with a Westport system installed. I fell in love with it and the idea of running compressed natural gas (which at the time was around .99 cents a gallon). So in November I sold my truck and made my purchase of this beautiful 2014 f250. ( I actually have a 2010 fusion with the same paint and interior.)
I did a ton of research on the different CNG systems available and decided to get an Altec-eco system installed by a company here in Oklahoma called Heartland CNG. I had talked to them several times and told them that it was going to be in May timeframe before I could afford to do the conversion... Well he called me in January and said that ford engineers were coming out to look at things and help with an install but he needed a truck so I said okay we can do this now! I got a better than normal deal out of it and was satisfied. I just have a few pictures since there really isn't much to photograph. I have ran the system for about 3000 miles so far and I have really enjoyed it. the price of CNG around here is in the 1.69 range.
On a future note I have several things on their way to be installed. Atomic led cab lights, led strips for light on the steps, a flip down monitor after I get the headliner pulled down to see what kind of structure is up there and what I will need to beef it up and I have 10 little round led lights(amber colored) that are about the size of a penny that I plan on putting in the lower air dam for running lights. I have also changed out the mirror lights for the LED recon lights
Anyways on to what I know you really want to see... pictures!

the system cost me $9150 for labor and parts add on the taxes and it was just shy of 10 grand. the tank is a 24 gallon tank. but typically you will see like a 20 gallon fill because there will always be a little left inside the tank. I have a station next to my house and next to my work so I have yet to run it out to see how much it will take. I imagine it would vary from day to day depending on air temp and other factors as well.
As far as mileage it is the same as on regular pump gas, your savings comes from paying less per gas gallon equivalent.

they say there is a slight power loss but I haven't noticed. I haven't towed anything yet I normally just have a boat(18' glastron runabout) I haul around but I'm a few months away from lake time.
I wont be towing any 35' camper trailers any time soon or any heavy equipment but I do know there are companies in oklahoma hauling equipment/heavy loads with cng trucks.

I have been filling up for $1.49 per gallon of CNG. depending on the driving style I can go between 200-270 miles on a tank of CNG. There are plenty of stations around Oklahoma city so I normally don't run it completely out.
I have also since towed just my boat several times and the truck doesn't even realize it is back there.(even through the cookson hills in eastern Oklahoma!) I've got about 10K miles on the truck with the CNG system installed and almost 13K total. I haven't had any major issues to date with the system. I will take it in in the next few weeks and have them change the filter and check for leaks.

Is your truck gas or diesel? I love the idea of CNG or even propane, I just wish there was a cheaper conversion. Has anyone ever seen this with a diesel before, I've usually only seen conversions with gas trucks. With that conversion cost would have to drive about 100k miles before breakeven assuming no additional maintenance costs or repairs occurred during that time.

when you get all 10 of those LEDs in the airdam you will be surprised at how bright they actually are and how far you can see them, also they will draw almost nothing on your electrical system. I ran LEDs on my OTR semi and the only problems I ran into was running in the winter (taillights would get snow covered and you could not see them because they don't generate enough heat to melt the snow off like incandesents do.
