Quick spec if you have it...

Good evening Gents,
I picked up an '87 2x4 with a 2.9 V6 for my son. Swapped out the radiator and heater core cuz it needed doing. Wanted to surprise him tomorrow but it appears that at least one of the rear freeze plugs is leaking. Could someone please tell me what size plug I need?
I asked my son to help me with a "side job" for a friend tomorrow night.
Once we make this repair, I'm gonna flip him the keys.
Thanks in advance...

The parts houses show two sizes. 41.65 mm and 1 1/2" which is 38.1 mm. I would assume the ones in the head are the small ones and the larger ones are for the block. Best to pull one out and measure it, They actually sell the original push in kind and also a type with rubber around it and a bolt to tighten like a boat plug. Of course, the prices are cheap for the OEM type and high for the block heater type rubber and bolt plug.

Thanks Joe. I think I'll just buy two of each tomorrow since the store will be closed by the time the tranny gets pulled after work. Just return the ones I don't use.
