Need help with decision

It looks like its my turn. My 05 X has fallen prey to the unfortunate common problem with 6.0s. Looking like EGR, Oil cooler, head gaskets, and studs will need to be replaced. I was looking over all the different brands and opinions from other sites. I am at least the second owner on my X and want to make sure I do it right. I would love to hear from you guys about kits and parts you all recommend and where to get the best deals. If there is already a thread out there I apologize (I didn't find it yet). Can't wait to hear from you all. Thanks in advance everyone!!!!

The Easy part:
ARP studs
OEM gaskets all the way around
OEM oil cooler
OEM down and dummy tubes

Where you might choose:
bulletproof EGR or equivalent
EGR delete

I had my Ford dealer do the install - just provided them the parts.

Many kits out there that includes all the above. Kits will run you about $1300-1500 and installation $2-3000 depending on the dealer I suppose.

That's what I did also... OEM/Ford now offering 24 month unlimited mile warranty.

For detailed info post this on the 6.0 forum

Moved to the forum that has more 6.0 experts hanging out than the Ex forum does.

Does it need head gaskets or is just the EGR cooler leaking?

But just an FYI the studs dont need replacing. 6.0s come with torque to yield head bolts, which stretch and fail. You want to have the ARP studs installed (bolt cap vs. stud with a nut). Just a little tip for when you walk in to have the work done and know what you need
