Got a '13, FX4, with the full MFT setup and the rear camera in the center screen.
Either I can't remember if it was always like this, or it's a problem brewing. But lately when I shift from reverse to drive, it seems like the rear camera screen stays on for about 15-30' of forward motion.
Sometime more, sometimes less. I swear when I first got the truck, it would switch back to the home screen almost instantly, when going from reverse to drive.
I have a choice of settings to turn the camera off immediately when coming out of Reverse gear, or keeping the camera on until I reach a certain speed. Check the settings in your truck. Maybe it's on the "above a certain speed" setting.
It does the same thing on my 2013 FX4 and I thought it was odd until someone here pointed out that it gives you peace of mind when starting out with a trailer.
Great, thanks fellas. I'm going to look when I get a chance. I re-booted the entire system a few weeks ago when my (pitch & angle) thingy in the app screen started doing goofy behavior. So perhaps something got re-set when that occurred?
That's possible. Hard to say really as the MFT system seems to do unexplained things from time to time...like resetting my ambient light settings and not dimming the screen at night. Do I care enough to complain? Nope. Just enjoying driving a beast of a truck and getting better mileage than in the '06.
