Well thats a long story, played out on another thread here, but to sum it all up.
bad lifter cause lpop to go out. upon tearing it down the cam was bad. So i had heads checked and both were apparently warped and one had small crack. A longblock for me was about the only option i had. Money being the biggest issue.

So if one can expect about $7,500 with a full core refund?

Congrats on getting her running, I hope you get many miles of reliable service from it.

i suppose. depending on if they needed a front cover or not or replaced oil cooler and labor rate of whomever if they dont do it them selves.
and this is by no means bashing any engine builder,
i cant imagine anyone really ever getting a full core refund. the reason one buys this like myself is my heads are bad, my cam's shot. if they werent this would of got rebuilt. they deduct so much for all the bad parts they can't reuse. and they are all different.

Reason: changed can to can't in last sentence

Good to hear you got it running. Hope you do some updating as the days past, just watch out for the trolls.lol
No clue. I know I paid that thousand I wont see back at all
Remember, if AE gives you a refund on the core, they paid shipping and gave a refund. Thus, AE actually pays $1,250 for a core if they refund the full $1,000 (Assuming shipping is $250).
Still, seems to me AE has to give you something for your core or AE should ship it back to you.
