Rattlecan paint job over bad rust

For anybody out there who may be curious how well any of the "Ford factory white" spray paint matches with a 14 year old paint job, here ya go!

Bought my rig with a bunch of rust damage to the rear quarter panels. Looks like snow chains broke on the left side and the right side was pretty torn up along the fender well. I decided to tackle a discount rust-repair job before the damage got bad and damaged the metal. Bought Dupli-color Ford factory white spray paint from O'Reilly's for the topcoat, Rust-Oleum primer, and Dupli-Color clear coat.

Disclaimer: Not professional work. I am attempting all work done to my rig before turning to the pros in an attempt to gain as much first hand knowledge as possible and hopefully some fun stories.

Here's the work:

Hope to have the left side done by the end of tomorrow.

Rock on!

looks great! It looks like the white is very forgiving. I did the same thing to my sons 99 Tracer with sub par results, but its Torreador Red and shows the new areas....but still better than rust!

Truth there, you can use $500 worth of paint and still make it look like a roll on job if you don't prep right. Looks good.

Final product. Black pen stripe kit is in the mail now. I may do black fender flares or something like that to help preserve the edges of the fenders.
