I just finished rebuilding my engine with the R&D Stage 1 cam, RD2 injection pump, and some of NMB2's injectors, new IDIT heads w/ ARP studs. After priming fuel into the system (and reading the instructions for the cam) it started right up, really smokey, but I advanced the pump timing a bit and it was much better. I took it for it's first test drive and pegged out the 15 psi. boost gauge before I hit 2500 rpm and if i had to guess it was up in the low 20's psi I backed off of it at about 3000rpm the difference in power is incredible!!!!!! This thing runs awesome! I do have a couple leaks I need to figure out before I have it back as my daily driver but I am really impressed with the performance of this setup! Thank you Racin'!!!
If you dont mind me asking how much did the build set you back
Racin' has really good prices for what he sells. That said, the other parts like the IDIT heads were pretty pricy to rebuild here on the island, even the machine shop has Alaska prices. I am guessing after it is all said and done I have about $1500, maybe a little more with the odds and ends parts, into the build. My engine was tired it needed the love. Why not replace the parts with performance parts, you know? Now this truck will send my powerstroke back to the barn with its tail between its legs! I love your avatar by the way!!!
I found the leak... my block heater popped out. Kind of sucks but it is one of the easiest things to fix. I just need to pop the block heater back in and get 7 more gallons of antifreze, then she will be good to go!
Thanks buddy. I picked up my IDI for450 bucks and she runs and drives. Ive got alot of work to do. Mainly maintained from sitting but i dont know what direction to go. I was checking out performance.com and they seemed real resonable.
You cut his head off though, is that John Wayne or Jack Palance?
John Wayne in True Grit as Rooster Cogburn

Yes the 90cc. I am running the stock mechanical pump. I plan to upgrade to a E-pump soon. Not wide open I was taking it up slow just because it was the first drive after putting it back together. Not huge billowing clouds but it is a little smokey, I am still working on getting the timing right.
