differences between 53-55 cabs?

What are the differences between these cabs? Are they all identical and interchangeable? I know the difference with the '56, but will a cab from a '55 bolt on nicely to a '56 chassis?

No differences in the mounting; that said, if you are putting a slant cab on a 56 chassis you will have some issues with the left running board brackets if you choose to keep the under cab gas tank. The 56 uses a long narrow battery, slant cabs use a more square battery...this means that the battery access plate in the floor on the passenger side is a different shape. Shouldn't be a big deal but it is one area that the two designs are different.

Great - and it is what I'm of doing - I have a '56 chassis (custom made) but I'm liking the slant cab more and more

I do not. I'm about to take possession of the chassis and I will soon start ordering the guts (engine, tranny, gas tank, radiator, etc).

I've also started looking for a 1955 f100 that has good cab and doors with no cancer not caring about anything else about the truck (could have no engine, transmission, etc)

I have a couple of cabs and the only difference I could find is in the ribs pressed into the back of the cab.
