Finally popped a head gasket last summer. Pulled it off, looks brand new inside even at 42 yrs old. No ridge on the cylinder at all. Uses no oil. Good runnin' Kohler.

Nice. Mine is an MTD. I figure it has low miles since it was literally buried in leaves next to a garage. When found, all that was showing was the engine cover.
I made this custom bumper for it... it's made from a shopping cart some loser abandoned in my neighborhood. The gussets and mounting plates are made from my old dock bumper. That makes it a Ford, right? It's getting headlights, taillights, a horn, a gimbal-slewed cup holder, cooler rack/jump seat, and a 2-inch receiver hitch.
Cubs have 5x4 1/2" bolt pattern on the rear axle. I've been wanting to put a pair of my old Centerlines on it(maybe even with some old slicks?).
I lurk around on the cub forum and look at how these guys restore them. Crazy stuff. Mine gets used too much to keep "perfect". Kinda like my hot rods.
Even my tractor is a Ford:
It looked sad when I found it, I did a quick repaint and got it running but the Idaho sun killed that quick. It's now in a few thousand pieces in the barn getting a real restoration including new decals. It's amazing that it can run that 50" deck with a 12hp engine. Of course, it has 32ft/lbs of torque vs a modern "12hp" having about 13-15.

Oh man, that is soooo cool. I gotta find me one. What years were those made?
The MTD is retired from mowing duties. It's gonna be the towing, trailer spotting, and going up the road to party at the neighbors' property tractor cuz it's alot easier to park the tractor than the truck.
There were Ford badged garden tractors from the early 60s to the mid 90s, but this particular style was made from 72 to 77. They were actually made by Jacobsen. The later ones were made by Bolens.
whats the firing order on a wankel motor i wonder?
Believe it or not, Those old Mazda Rotary guys put Holley 600's on 'em. I sold one to a guy on EBAY and that's were it headed. I had to drill out the vent orifices to a different size to work right on a Rotary.
