Blinking 4x4 light

This is similar to a 2008 thread called : https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/639058-1999-ford-expedition-4x4-blinking.html

That thread got hijacked several times, so I want to start over with some fresh thinking.

My 99 Expy has a blinking 4x4 light when in AWD. Light is solid in 4x4 mode, and the 4x4 Hi works fine.
4Lo does not work, but that probably is a different problem. I replaced the rear speed sensor on the rear diffrential with no change in blinking. it appears that this sensor also affects ABS operation??
So here is where things get confusing: I bought the car used, and the 4x4 and ABS lights never lit up, even at startup. I have driven it for 4 years with no problems. I assumed that the car had no ABS braking system or 4x4 indicator light=wrong. Last week I pulled out the instrument cluster to do the "odometer blackout fix" and discovered that the 4x4 bulb and ABS bulb had been removed from the cluster. I plugged a bulb into the 4x4 socket, which is why I discovered that it is binking. i still have not put a bulb in the ABS socket, but can reasonably assume it would be lit or binking If i were to do so.

So I have a car with malfunctioning ABS and 4AWD. Do these two systems share any other components? Would bad front ABS sensors also affect the 4AWD?
No computer error codes have ever showed up, so i can not say for sure that the old rear speed sensor was bad.
The check list on the above hyperlink is too long and vague to know what is wrong. Anybody know the answer to these malfunctions??

Why is it that people feel the need to play around with fonts and text sizes when making a post? All it does is make the page more difficult to read.

The speed sensors you need to troubleshoot are on the front and rear of the transfer case and not on the differentials.

thanks again

finally some real information. how about posting the rest of that manual?
after a very thorough web search, I am guessing that thise sensors are a dealer part only. I can not even find a picture of one of those sensors.
is there a test i can do on my sensors to determine which one has gone bad?

Search (CTRL+F) this PDF for the word HALL to find instances of the front and rear (speed)hall effect sensors.

and again... thanks!

alloro,
i can not use the search funtion on the attachment, but I did install a fuse where one was missing in the cental fuse box and viola the 4Lo works after 4 years of being offline!!!!! the txfr case switch, circuitry, motor, and txfr case are all OK.
i am manually digging though the 95 page .pdf for more answers to my binking 4x4 light.
also i plugged a new ABS sensor to the rear diff, and a new lightbulb into the instrument cluster. No warning from the ABS so I assume it is now working too. no road tests to confirm yet though.
the Ford factory rrepair manual does indicate that the ABS system sensors do play a role in proper 4AWD function, so I can not rule out a ABS problem until I confirm that it is working properly -maybe a gravel lot will help me discover if ABS is now online?
if there is a section of the pdf which gives resistance or conductivity values for the two txfr case speed sensors I would appreciate your pointing them out.
