6.0 hard start Code P2291

Hey all I need some advice on my truck first off its a:Studded, deleted 2006 6.0 F350, with a edge programmer, afe airbox,4" turbo back exhaust with both hpop replaced less then 3k miles ago...
Now I have a issue with code P2291 low pressure at injectors, and it cranks an cranks before starting, once started it runs ok but with less power then normal feels like, I am thinking icp or irp from some things I have read but wanted to check with you guys first and I do have plans to get the oil system pressure tested but money is tight right now

Both HPOP? Do you mean the standpipes and dummy plugs? Your truck only has one HPOP.

That code means low HPO cranking. You probably need to pull the IPR valve and see if the screen is intact or torn.

The mechanic had explained as two hpop so it must be the stand pipes an dummy plugs....
So check the ipr is in order and since the icp is only 55$ shipped I might just put a new one in as well

Do you have a way to read ICP and IPR? That will give you a more definitive answer. You can get a scangauge 2 for <$130 at advance auto if you order online with a coupon for instore pickup.

You might be able to update your Edge to read those parameters. I think they did that recently, but I'm not sure.

Update:it seems it's my hpop that actually has only 425 miles on it and 11 months,it will build up enough pressure to start and run after cranking it over multiple times, the mechanic that changed it informed me without even thinking about it that they would cover the part but not labor, that seem right?
Also he said 750 to do the actuall removal and replacement?

If the HPOP came from Ford it should have at least a 12 month warranty. If the shop/mechanic purchased the pump and installed it then, depending on HIS warranty, he should probably cover the labor. If it was a dealership they should cover the whole cost. AFA $750 to do the pump that's reasonable.

Will 750 bucks even buy an OEM HPOP?

After rereading this at the start, I find it hard to believe that not one but TWO late model pumps have gone bad. It's possible that the IPR needs some attention.

I don't know what a late model HPOP costs Brett. They don't fail often enough to remember--LOL.

The first hpop had a lot if hard miles from previous owner this one is just a weak link, also they run 1,500$ and the 750 is just labor,I am contemplating a small claims lawsuit if they will not pay the labor me paying it is ridiculous

I doubt you need an HPOP.

Time to air check the dummy plugs. I would assume at this point all new HPOP's have the new STC fitting, but anything can happen.
